Meet Anne and Connor

Anne France Hurst

AThR, MA-AT(Clin), MHSc, R.N, ANZATA (Prof), CTAA. DTAA (Ass)

Anne has been working for over 10 years in arts/dance movement therapies in mental health settings, and privately.

Anne works with individuals and groups,  youth and adults - specialising in complex trauma, eating disorders, and complex disability. Anne combined a lifetime of creative dance and a career in mental health, formally studying and practicing arts and dance movement therapy since 2004.

Anne completed her Masters in Health Science ( Expressive Therapies ) in 2010 and an MA in Arts Therapy, Clinical (Dance Movement Therapy specialisation) in 2011. Anne has been working with Connor Kelly for over 10 years first as a student and now together training students and working with groups as well her own private practice with groups and individuals. Anne is on the steering committee of Creative Therapies Association Aotearoa and has presented at conferences for CTAA, ANZATA and the New Zealand Counsellors Association professional development. Anne is a member of Dance Therapy Association of Australasia and has presented at the Australasian Conference in Melbourne.

Anne also teaches creative therapies on the counselling degree programme at Manukau Institute of Technology, supervises arts therapy masters  students  at Whitecliffe College in Auckland, teaches and supervises students on the DTNZ diploma and clinical programmes. Anne lives in Auckland, New Zealand by the sea.

E. Connor Kelly

MA, BC-DMT, LPC, DTAA (Prof DMT)

 

Connor has been practicing authentic movement since 1985 and offering groups and workshops since 1990. 

She has been blessed with opportunities to study with Janet Adler, Tina Stromsted, Neala Haze and Zoe Avstreih. 

Connor has facilitated workshops in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and Taiwan. She trained as a dance/movement Therapist at New York University and has worked with developmental disabled adults, frail elderly, brain injured adults, children and families, children in the schools and adults. 

Connor co facilitates a practice called Physical Storytelling that she co created with her husband Dr Steve Harvey.

Connor also is a La Leche League Leader supporting mothers with breastfeeding and teaches yoga.

She has resided in USA, Germany, Italy , New Zealand and currently lives in Guam, USA.
